Engaged. Involved. Effective.
If those three words describe your intentions as a citizen and a voter, the League of Women Voters of Metropolitan Phoenix offers you extraordinary opportunities to build election awareness and voter involvement and to make a difference in such critical public policy areas as voting rights, education, healthcare and human rights.
Voter and Citizen Education:
The League of Women Voters educates and engages voters by providing unbiased non-partisan information about elections, the voting process, and issues. This work uses funds from the League’s Education Fund, which is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, educational, charitable organization. Gifts to the League’s Education Fund are generally tax-deductible. Please consult your tax advisor.
Advocacy and Action:
One of the League’s most exciting and valuable activities is the careful study of existing and proposed public policies. Based on that research, League members decide whether to advocate for or against certain policies. For example, the League opposes gerrymandering and supports public education, access to health care and voters’ rights.
The League does not take a position on candidates or political parties or factions. Funding for advocacy and action comes from the League itself, which is a nonprofit membership 501(c)4 organization. Membership dues are not tax-deductible.
